Car Airbags

It is a vehicle safety device and are used in the car for the purpose of minimize the damage to the driver and other component in the vehicle in accidental case or during collision.

Air bags are made up of different stretchable fabric which is air proof and form in a shape of balloon. Air bars in cars implement to make the driver safe during a sudden collision or accident.


Air bags are invented by the German Engineer Walter Linderer in 1951. Linderer uses compressed air to inflate the air bags. But Linderer air bags could not successful to inflate the air bags fast by the use of compressed air that why they are impractical for use.


Air bags mainly used in cars for safety purpose of driver and passenger but now they are used in many vehicle like trucks, buses, racing cars, and many more to the safety of driver during collision. Car air bags are mostly installed in high budget cars and in luxury cars thus providing extra feature/use for safety.


  • When a car hit to any obstacle then its speed de accelerate gradually.
  • After collision of car through any obstacle impact  sensor work and it sense the speed of impact.
  • After that air sensor work through impact sensor and it allow the nylon filled in the cylinder in function.
  • Working of all the process are so quick that the time between collision and airbags open is 1-2 sec.
